DRUM MEDIAS MUSIC QUESTIONS 2011
(My answers)

I’m mainly working off my Last.fm account statistics but I’ve adjusted it to reflect what I genuinely thought were stand outs despite their play count.

Another point to remember when reading through is that I’m doing this in early December 2011. Last year I did it in late November. So don’t get too agitated when you notice that some songs are not from 2011, juzrelaxay.

"I don't know what it is about me that makes people think I wanna hear there problems. Maybe I smile too much, maybe I wear too much pink, but please remember - I can rip your throat out if I need to. And also know that I am not a hooker. That was a long, long time ago."

Comments

I think overall you guise can see that I’ve got a thing for Alex Clare. I think he’s insanely underrated and extremely talented.  You might also notice the abundance of ‘instantly gratifying’ tracks, but are you going to tell a girl in her late teens who grew up on a diet of Britney Spears and The Spice Girls to like something else? No, you wouldn’t as you’d probably end up with an eye full of glitter. And I’m talking the small, gritty stuff; not any of this foily confetti business.

My obsessions this year have mainly been centred on TV shows, so the music part of my heart has been slightly deprived of its nutritional juices in the form of music. Last year I was heavily influenced by dubstep and its sister genres. This year it has slightly lost its appeal, short of a few remixes and original tracks. This year it has mainly been dance tracks (as I have been frequenting clubs and bars a lot more) and chill tracks (no I do not do illicit substances).

I’ve run out of things to say so I will shut up and end this before Future Anilla realises how much of a pretentious weirdo Past Anilla was.
