FUCK MANAGEMENT

Sydneys Big Day Out 2010 ticket sales were totally fucked last night. Pretty much what happened was; Ticketmaster started selling tickets at fucking 9/10pm for around an hour or however long which saw a massive chunk of tickets sold. Then the 12am sales what fucked because there were no proper links INSIDE the BDO website (it could only be found on the opening page) and it wasn't until 15 minutes later that we found it. At this point it was already too late, the presales were snapped up.

We thought we'd just wait for the online sales at 9am so we went to bed to wake at 830am and ready to go. The time came.. *F5*...*F5* *F5*... nothing. We were about 40 minutes into it and the Ticketmaster site was being a bitch and couldn't find any tickets. Come 10ish Ticketmaster said they sold out. Bullshit, sif.

An hour or so later the Big Day Out site said it was OFFICIALLY sold out but to stay tunned for a "Special Anounncement". In the mean time we're reading hardxcore BDO fans raging because they didn't get a ticket (as were we) and scalpers had already posted tickets online on eBay at prices in the thousands. Some fans so pissed off they bid millions of dollars on these tickets just to piss off the posters. Rumours that there was some sort of error within Ticketmaster which caused a majority to be snapped up by scalpers started popping up everywhere. Intended? Perhaps.

We waited around for a good 6 fucking hours in the dark trying to piece together what was happening through various forums. Come midday Triple J are telling us to stick around for a "Special Announcement" in regards to Big Day Out Sydney tickets. Coming on later telling us to tune into the breakfast show THE NEXT DAY to hear the announcement. FUCK-THAT.

Bitches everywhere are saying it's just the ballot announcement. Sif, they would have just said it straight up. We were hoping they cancel all the 9-10pm tickets sold and hold a resale as it is only fair.

Half hour later they told us "due to popular demand" there will be a second show in Sydney. RELIEF!

But one can't help but think this was all planned. Imagine the effort they'd need to put into organising a SECOND BDO show... in Sydney. That means having to get into contact with management of all the artists to get confirmation in regards to their availability the day after (which I'd imagine would interfere with their sideshows), rebooking the venue, hiring staff (including security) for another whole day and various other tasks all within... say... 6 hours.

I don't know about you but I find that a bit hard to believe.
